Nuyten got her first smartphone relatively late, in 2011. For a while, she photographed the traces her fingers had left on the screen every night. Sometimes, the repeated patterns reveal the use of a specific app, such as Timezone Ensemble. This work formed the beginning of Nuyten’s long-term investigation into swipes.
